School is out and summer has started! That means the kids are home and what better time to teach them about basic finances and how to earn their own money? For younger children it could be something as simple as a lemonade stand or bake sale to get them started. It will help teach them things such as basic start up costs and how to budget their money. And, for older children, it could be something like washing cars or helping to pet-sit, or walk, the neighborhood dogs. They’ll learn the basics of having job obligations and how it isn’t always easy to delegate pay between the need and the want. Aside from that, it’ll help to keep them busy while school isn’t in session!
