And it’s often in those battles that we are most alive: it’s on the frontlines of our lives that we earn wisdom, create joy, forge friendships, discover happiness, find love, and do purposeful work. If you want to win any meaningful kind of victory, you’ll have to fight for it. —Eric Greitens
May is a glorious month. Spring is springing everywhere. Days are longer. Gardeners are planting seeds. People are getting outside, opening their windows to the fresh air, and feeling rejuvenated. It is a time when we shake of the winter doldrums, when we start to feel alive again.
But this May, our country (and the world) is battling COVID-19. In fact, every single one of us is living on the front line of this new threat to our well-being. And it’s affecting every area of our lives. Most particularly our finances.
We at Rena-Fi felt this would be a perfect time to offer you encouragement and some ways to approach this time of unprecedented national challenge so that can thrive. In times like this, thriving may not look like what it did just three months before. But it is possible. Indeed, it’s imperative that we all take a step back and think about our priorities, our commitments, and our duties to ourselves and each other.
We’ll be guiding you to think about what thriving means to you, and how it might change when circumstances aren’t the best. Then we’ll be looking at the role that duty/oaths, courage, standing true, and faith play in helping you thrive. The focus will be on finances, but just engaging these qualities will have far-reaching benefits in all areas of your life.
Our hope is that you will find and experience the truth in this month’s guiding quote, that as you fight this battle, your wisdom, joy, happiness, love, friendships, and purpose expand, and you feel more alive than ever. Let’s get started!
